Good News: We just heard today that our friends G&T from the UK will be making the trip after all! I am so happy to hear this! I am wondering how they got a verandah or higher cabin? I know they at least wanted the verandah. My agent told me at final payment the cruise is sold out and nothing better is available for us. We do have an “obstructed view” guaranteed without a cabin assignment. This means we could still get a free upgrade still… but who knows. Anyway, we are happy our friends are able to make the cruise after all. We are thrilled to be going even if it was an inside cabin, but we really love the fresh air a verandah provides.
The Bad News: We are wavering on the extended days in Key West. John has another stasis foot ulcer and it will depend on how the healing progresses and the doctors prognosis. We don’t want to extend the trip, plan on walking and bicycling all around and then not be able to do anything. John is discouraged and very tired of sitting with his foot up for the last few weeks as it is.
